I got back into my Ford and the policeman walked over to me, I was watching him in my rear view mirror and saw him look into the back of the truck, he stopped walking and I saw his eyes widen, then he started to reach into the back of the truck to pick something up when I said out load "What do you want officer?"

The policeman's hand went back and he turned toward me.

When he got to the window he said "Why were you driving so slow, is there a problem with your car? Do you need some help?"

So that was it, he stopped me to offer help. "No officer the truck is fine, I was just driving carefully because of the load I have in the back. I don't want to damage the bean and rock collection that I brought today. I am studying this type of beans and I might as well dry them in the sun on my way back to Tokoroa."

The police officer looked at me and I saw that he was struggling to believe me.

"I use the rocks for crystal healing purposes" I said desperately.

It was obvious that the policeman couldn't think of another reason for me having thousands of beans spread out over the deck of my Ford so he said "Okay, well how about you speed up a bit more so that you don't frustrate somebody and they don't have an accident".

"Sure officer I will do as you say".

"May I see your drivers licence" said the policeman.

I sighed, this chap didn't seem easy to get rid of. I opened the glove compartment and gave him my licence. He looked at it for a short while and then handed it back to me.

"Okay" he said and turned and walked back to his car, stealing one more look into the back of my old Ford and then shaking his head as if he didn't believe what he was seeing.

I waited until he drove off before I started the Ford. I looked to where Arnie and Enie were sitting but they were gone. All that was there was a piece of paper, and then I saw the paper move and they stepped out with smiles on their faces.

"You did well John" said Enie.

"Its not far to my place from here so hopefully we won't see him again" I said crossing my fingers for luck. Not that I believe in that sort of thing.

Jenny Smith had arrived home and was telling her parents about her adventure and how she broke her leg. Her parents laughed and then told her off for telling lies. They were surprised as Jenny was normally an honest girl. They would have to keep an eye on her.

Jenny sat on her doorstep in the hot sun and looked very confused. She new what she new, but she also new that nobody else was ever going to believe her, not even her best friends.

When we got home I opened the tailgate and placed a wide plank on the back so that the Weenie Beenies could all get out. I went inside and made a cup of coffee and then came out to watch the preceding's.

The Weenie Beenies were carrying their stuff down the plank and all gathering at the bottom.

The great Weenie Beanie council was getting together to organise the situation. And I smiled at the thought, even Weenie Beenies have politicians so they can't all be honest.

The Weenie Beanies sat down around the great Weenie Beanie council and waited for a decision to be made. Some were certain that they couldn't stay here with this human, he couldn't be trusted. It was obvious to some of them that I had saved them for my personal gain.

There were eight council members and they were all obviously old, I noticed that four of the eight were females. The discussion went on for another hour and finally a decision was made.

The vote went to stay with me while scout Weenie Beanies found another place for them to stay.

"Would you all like to live in the house?" I said happily.

The council members looked at me disapprovingly and all said together, "No!"

One of the old ladies in the council said, "We prefer to live outdoors, its where we have always been and if makes us feel comfortable and happy being with nature", she smiled.

"Oh sure, that seems to be a good idea. Can I help with anything?", I asked hoping that I could do something to help the Weenie Beanies in their quest for a new home. I looked at them eagerly.

One of the council woman spoke and introduced herself as Sery Ani, "The council has been thinking about you young human, we understand you are eager to help us, but some of our members are not keen to have you in our midst. Your kind can be very cruel and humans are well known for destroying anything that is smaller and therefore considered weaker than themselves." she paused for effect and then went on "Your help was very valuable to us in our desperate hour of need and it does not go unnoticed with our people. If your heart is honest then time will be on your side and our people will grow to love you."

I nodded my head when she had finished, this truly was a wise council member.

Sery Ani continued "Until then we will treat you carefully and trust you in small amounts, please understand that this must be the way. If we need your help we will ask. Thank you John Moore!"

And with that I was dismissed from the meeting. I bowed to the all and went inside to consider my future and the meaningful conversations that I had over the past with Enie Bean.

I smiled when I realised that I had bowed to the high council, this was an old human custom that was used for respect and I did it without thinking.

Inside I made another drink of coffee and sat down in the lounge and read a book. It was an interesting book called Heart Of The Lion and it was written by Gilbert Morris. I had borrowed it from the Tokoroa Public Library recently.

The next morning I woke up to see Enie and Arni Bean sitting on my pillow.

"Good morning John" they said.

"Good morning Arni and Enie, what's up?" I greeted them.

Nothing much, we just thought we would come in and see what you were up to. You do sleep for a long time don't you?" said Arnie looking at me quizzidly.

"Not really, its only eight in the morning" I said glancing at the alarm clock by my bed. I then got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom to wash up.

By the time I got to the kitchen Arnie and Enie were there sitting on the kitchen table watching me. I got the frying pan out and turned on an element on the oven. Next I opened the fridge door and got some bacon slices out to eat.

Arnie exclaimed "Oh no John, you aren't going to eat that are you", I looked at him wondering what the fuss was all about.

"Yes I am going to cook and eat these bacon slices, do you want some" I said smiling at them.

"We don't eat animals" said Enie, "Arnie is a bit shocked that you do that's all. We were taught never to kill an animal unless we have to".

"Well tell Arnie that this is my home and this is what I eat"

Arnie frowned and Enie smiled at Arnie to make him feel better.

It was at this moment that I felt a pain in my stomach and I grabbed it and yelped with pain. Enie and Arnie looked at me in surprise. "What's wrong John" they said with worried looks on their faces.
