Dr Jones decided that he had pushed his luck today and he went to the door and opened it and peered carefully outside, nobody was in sight so he stepped outside and blinked as the bright sunshine hit his face.

He walked around to the stables and saddled his horse then mounted it.

"Hold it, where are you going" said the rough looking ranch foreman that greeted Dr Jones the day before.

"Just going to town to get some food for tonight's dinner".

"Okay, but don't take to long, the boss doesn't like to wait for his dinner. And if he waits, its not to good for your health old man".

With a wave of his hand Dr Jones was riding down the long driveway.

Dr Jones rode into the campsite of his friends.

"Hello!"

Ben and Mary jumped up happily and ran to greet Dr Jones. Jake was not far behind.

"What happened" said Mary.

"What did you find?" said Ben.

"Nothing so far. But I did get a good look around in the barn. Jake were do you think your father would have left the Will"? enquired Dr Jones.

"I'm not sure, but I would imagine it may be between some books in the bookshelf or stored inside a book. Did you have a look in the old box on the work bench, he used to store papers and diagrams in it"? said Jake trying to be helpful.

"I didn't see that box anywhere, what did it look like"?

"It was about so big" Jake showed the size of the box with his hands "and it was dark brown, you couldn't miss it unless it was put somewhere else after I left the home".

"That must be what happened, I had better get going. Sorry I can't stay long but I told the hired thugs leader that I was going to town to get some additional food for tonight's supper", and with that Dr Jones waved and headed out of camp.

The rest watched him go. Ben was starting to feel frustrated because he had nothing to do but wait, Jake was looking nervous as well. But Mary had full confidence in Dr Jones and she happy waiting, for now anyway.

Dr Jones hurried to town and brought some herbs and vegetables and headed back to the Worthington ranch.

The next morning after breakfast Dr Jones went back to the barn, when he was inside he started the search again, he looked for the missing box and finally found it under the workbench. Some metal sheets had been stacked on the box. He lifted the box onto the table and started looking through all the papers. After ten minutes he had found nothing of interest.

Dr Jones new that he couldn't keep coming into the barn, he would eventually be caught.

He went back to finish looking through the books on the bookshelf. Then he noticed and old Bible, he pulled it out and held the covers apart and shook the book to try and loosen any papers that may have been inside it. Nothing came out.

He decided that he had been in the barn long enough, he put the Bible under his jacket and headed for the door. Once again he carefully peered outside and saw nobody, he opened the door quickly and stepped outside closing the door behind him.

He walked quickly to the front of the house and then went to his room. He took the big old Bible out from under his jacket and slid it under his bed. He looked at the time and decided he had better start preparing for lunch.

After lunch Dr Jones walked around the front of the big house and saw the gardener again and they chatted for a while. Dr Jones was interested in the flowers and what their names were. The whole time he was talking to the gardener the thugs watched him wearily.

While they were chatting and looking around they saw some riders and a fancy carriage coming up the driveway, it was Dirk and Sheza. Dirk was riding a fine looking black stallion and Sheza was in the coach. When they rode past Dr Jones and Fred Wilkens, Dirk nodded his head in recognition, both Dr Jones and Fred Wilkens raised a hand and waved politely, though it was obvious neither of them had much time for Dirk and his girlfriend.

Dr Jones asked Fred if he had ever met Mr Worthington, the father.

"Yes, it was Mr Worthington who hired me many years ago" he mused, "He was a fine man, he treated his staff well. Its hard to believe that Dirk is his son, they are so different", "Many of the us staff are waiting for the younger brother Jake or the missing twins to come back and claim their share of the inheritance. The three of them seem to have vanished off the face of the earth".

They chatted for a short while and then Dr Jones went back to his room, he watched out the window and thought he was getting nowhere. He hadn't found anything yet and his trips to the barn were bound to get him into lots of trouble.

Then he remembered the Bible and he stood up and got it out from under the bed.

He sat down on the bed and opened the big book, he believed in the word of God and he found this large Bible fascinating and he read for a while. "It must have belonged to Mr Worthington" he thought as he closed the big book, it was then that he noticed for a split second something attached to the inside of the back cover.

He opened it up again and there was a folded piece of paper stuck with a small amount of a gluey substance to the back, inside cover. He pulled gently and it broke away, not ripping the paper.

He unfolded it and read, it was the missing Will. After reading the contents he folded it back up and put it in his jacket pocket, it was time to get back to the twins and Jake.

He rushed outside and saddled up his horse, nodding to the head ruffian he said "Have to go to town to get some food for a special meal tonight" and trotted off. He wanted to gallop but he new that would cause suspicion so he forced himself to take it easy. When he reached the main road and out of sight of the ranch he galloped back to the campsite of his friends.

Dr Jones galloped into camp and everyone rose to see what the fuss was all about. Dr Jones was waving a piece of paper in his hand, "Its the will" he cried out loud, "I've got it"!

"Great news, was it in the box" said an excited Jake Worthington.
