Jake said "What happened you are supposed to be dead"?
"Dirk is a coward, he didn't have what it takes to kill me, so he locked me up in this room and faked my death, some old man died in another town of a heart attack and Dirk had his body dug up and brought back here to Virginia and put the old fellow in a coffin and told everyone that it was me. A doctor was paid by Dirk to sign the death certificate, Dirk has nearly everyone in town on his payroll".
"I have been in this room for a few years now and I figured that I was never going to get out. I spent years trying to figure out where I had gone wrong with that boy, but I can't seem to find out why Dirk turned out the way he did" said a sad Mr Worthington.
Mary looked at Dr Jones and introduced him to her father, "Daddy this is our very close friend Dr Jones", Dr Johns and Mr Worthington shook hands.
"SSShhhhh" said Mr Worthington, "I hear voices".
Ben and Jake ran behind the door. Mary and Dr Jones ran into the large wall closet.
The door opened and Dirk entered, "Hey old man, how come this door is unlocked".
Jake stepped out from behind the door and hit Dirk behind the head with the rock, Dirk collapsed in a heap on the floor.
Mr Worthington looked at his son on the floor and felt no sorrow, he just shook his head sadly.
"We have Dirk, what's next", said an excited Mary, her heart pounding and her breath short as the day was turning out to be a shocker for all.
"Have you anymore rope Mary?", said Ben.
"Yes, shall we tie him up and gag him as well", she said smiling while she cut away some of the rope that was used to pull the curtains.
"Yes and lets put him in the closet so nobody can find him until all this is sorted out", said Ben.
After Dirk was tied up and gagged it was time for the final showdown with Sheza.
Ben was wearing Dirks gun belt and his waist when he stepped into the hallway at the top of the stairs.
Jake had Dirks hunting knife tied around his waist and the others had their weird assortment of odds and ends from Mary's backpack.
Sheza was the only one in control of the ranch now and they had to catch her.
They all walked down the stairs and onto the marble floor. They heard Sheza talking to a maid in the library, they walked to the library door. They waited until the maid left then Mr Worthington walked into the library and faced Sheza who was standing by the large open windows.
"Who the heck let you out old man", demanded Sheza!
Then Ben, Jake, Mary and Dr Jones stepped into the room one by one, each one stepping into the room to give Sheza small multiple shocks as she saw each one. Her cld chilled heart fluttered at each revelation.
"What the... What's gong on here, where is Dirk"?
"Dirk is dead", said Jake, "And I am making a citizens arrest, you Sheza are under arrest for aiding Dirk in stealing this property and keeping my father captive for years in his room".
"The games up", said Mary with a happy big smile on her face.
Ben hadn't drawn his gun because she seemed harmless enough and she appeared not to be armed.
Sheza stared for a short while and then her entire body went limp and she collapsed on the floor, Jake ran towards her to see what was wrong and Sheza sprung up with a six gun in her hand, she had a sneer on her face.
"I knew that this would not last forever, but I am a survivor, and I will get away and I may just come back so watch out", said Sheza as she walked slowly towards the big window. She turned and she said to Ben "Drop the gun little boy", Ben did as he was told, "And the knife Jake!"
Jake glared at her and dropped the knife on the floor in front of him.
